Girl Drinking a Smoothie

It’s August and that means summer will soon be winding down here in Odenton, MD so today we are sharing some smoothie recipes to enjoy at your apartment at The Groves at Piney Orchard before it’s time for hot drinks!  Smooth, creamy, fruity, healthy — we’ve got a recipe! Try one (or more) this month!

Peaches ‘N Cream

This sweet and creamy smoothie is naturally sweet and low in sugar. Combine 1 cup frozen peaches, 1 cup coconut milk, ½ cup water, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and a handful of ice. Add a scoop of protein powder if you’d like.

Raspberry Vanilla

Raspberries are naturally low in sugar and high in fiber. Enjoy a flavorful sweet and tart smoothie that won’t leave you feeling sick to your stomach. Make it by blending 2 cups frozen raspberries, 1 ½ cups almond milk, 1 scoop of protein powder, and 1 tablespoon of chia seeds.

Carrot Cake Smoothie

This smoothie is like a healthier version of carrot cake. The combination of spices in this smoothie help to give it plenty of flavor without overloading it with sugar. What you will need: ¼ cup pecans, 1 cup water, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 small carrots (cut into chunks), 1 medium-sized banana, and a scoop of protein powder (optional).

Blueberry Basil Bliss

This simple smoothie is packed with flavor and fiber, plus it only requires four total ingredients. Combine 5 to 6 basil leaves, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 ¾ cup almond milk, and a handful of ice in a blender and blend until smooth.

Vanilla Lime Green Smoothie

Don’t be put off by its color; this smoothie actually tastes great! This smoothie combines the sweetness of vanilla with the tanginess of lime, creating something similar to a creamsicle but without any of the guilt. Combine ½ cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup packed spinach leaves, 2 teaspoons honey, ½ frozen banana, 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract, ½ cup milk, and ½ to 1 cup ice in a blender and blend until smooth.

Make one of these tasty, nutrient-rich smoothies this month for a refreshing treat, breakfast-to-go, or healthy alternative to a sugary dessert. Thanks for reading our post!
